ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING

On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, the Highlands County Planning and Zoning Commission heard Proposal #CPA-21-586SS and Planning & Zoning 2077 to rezone parcels off Hammock Road from residential to business/commercial. The Board denied both proposals 5-2. Please refer to Items C & D of the meeting minutes that pertain to this request. Click here to view>

The applicant is now requesting a small-scale plan amendment from High-Density Residential to Commercial. The applicant also requests zoning from Multiple Family Dwelling, including motel and hotel with a Flexible Unit Development District (K-3 FUD) to Business District (B-3).

The commissioners’ decisions may impact our daily lives in the Golf Hammock and neighboring communities. Therefore, it is in the best interest that Golf Hammock residents plan to attend the June 15 meeting at 9:00 am. The meeting is open to the public, and you are encouraged to speak up and voice your opinions.

ROADS & DRAINAGE SURVEY

The GHOA Roads and Drainage Committee is conducting a survey to assess needed drainage restoration projects in our community.  If you have standing water that persists for 24 hours after a rainfall along the road side of your property, then please complete this survey at the link below by June 30, 2021.  

 

Please also assist us in making sure that you are in no way blocking the water flow at the road side of your property. Any obstructions within 15 feet of the road may cause drainage problems for your neighbors 

 

If you have no standing water issues, then you can skip this survey.

 

If you have any neighbors that have a problem with standing water and you know that they don’t have an email on file with the HOA, please assist them with completing the survey online or ask them to contact Richard Smith at rismith@centurylink.net or   231-421-4786.

COVENANT REVIVAL BALLOTS

By this time, most GHOA Members should have received a white Covenant Revival mailing envelope dated February 2021. If you haven’t already completed the ballot form included in the envelope, please take a few moments to vote on the revival by completing the ballot and returning it in the self-addressed and postage-paid envelope. You can send the completed ballot via U.S. Mail or drop it into the Golf Hammock box inside of the Activity Center. 

 

Every Member’s vote is important in demonstrating to the State of Florida that the majority of our Members want to protect our Community by continuing Golf Hammock as a deed-restricted community.

GOLF HAMMOCK COUNTRY CLUB AND GOLF COURSE

The Golf Hammock Country Club and Golf Course is privately owned and is not a part of the Golf Hammock Owners Association (GHOA). Request you direct any golf course questions to the Pro Shop at telephone 863-382-2151.

Complaints and Violations

Members aware of a violation of our deed restrictions, covenants, or standing rules, should report the matter to the GHOA Board by completing a Complaint/Violation form. Click on the button below to view, fill out, print a document, or print a form and manually fill it out. Alternately, blank forms are available at the Activity Center. Be sure to sign and date the Complaint/Violation form. 

 

You may email the completed form to bobschroeder1501@gmail.com or drop it off at the Activity Center's GHOA mailbox.

IMPORTANT:  ANONYMOUS COMPLAINTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR REVIEW.
