CORMORANT POINT HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
The January 4, 2017 meeting of the Board of Directors was called to order by Steve Fox at 4:00 pm in the Golf Hammock Club Meeting Room. Board members in attendance were Bob Rivenes, Nancy Beatty, Lillian Kachelries and Ed Chroscinski. Members in attendance were Margaret Thomson, Ron & Karen Sasher, Leo & Ruth Hoffman, Rosemary Kunz, Carl & Heddy Scaggs, Bill Geiger, Paul & Rosalie Chanley, Jim & Pat Ladd, Leon Kordel, Bill & Carolyn Hineline, and Pia Giorgrone & Floyd Walbert.
Minutes: The minutes of the December meeting were emailed and posted on our bulletin board on the Waterwood commons. They also appear in the Golf Hammock web site. A motion to accept the minutes as published was unanimously approved. To improve communications, a copy of the December minutes and a copy of recent By-Law changes were hand delivered to each resident. If a member would like a printed copy of future minutes, please contact Bob Rivenes 385-5790.
Treasurer’s Report: Nancy Beatty reported that with $53,526.22 in the treasury starting December and with $2,250 in income and $14,909.31 in expenses for December, the year 2017 starts with $40,866.91 in the treasury. A motion to approve the report was unanimously approved. A full report is attached.
President's Report: Steve reiterated the problem with members operating or contracting the operation of power equipment prior to 8 am.
Vice-President Report: No report
Violations (Property Compliance): Although absent, Bob’s emailed his Tip of the Month: Please check your water sprinkling systems! A few are sprinkling all hours of the day; some three times a week and many are watering roadways. You may not be paying for the water but you are paying for the electricity running the pump.
Architectural/Landscaping: A request for a screening of a front patio was denied.
The required use of Sherwin Williams paint for the best result was emphasized.
Welcoming: One new family was visited.
Old Business: Karen Sasher has graciously volunteered to head a committee to plan and implement the annual picnic on February 11, 2017. Members are lining up to help.
New Business: None
Member Comments: Members discussed the upcoming recycling collection process. They were concerned with the size and the potential storage problem of the huge containers.
Meeting adjourned. The next scheduled Board meeting will be February 1 at the GHOA facility at 4 pm.
